The "coral" of Google reaches Geekbench with Android Q, likely to be the successor of Pixel 3

It is unlikely that Android Q will debut before the next I / O developer conference scheduled for May. But before the official announcement of the new Android iteration, a Google device with the code name "Coral" was spotted on Geekbench. The new device, which seems to be the successor of existing Pixel 3 models, is listed with a Qualcomm SoC that could be the Snapdragon 855, with 6GB of RAM. There is also an explicit mention of Android Q - the next version after Android Pie.

According to the list on the Geekbench website, as reported by PhoneArena, the Google Coral device uses Android Q. A section also features a Qualcomm SoC. This could be the high-end Snapdragon 855 SoC, with eight cores having a base frequency of 1.78 GHz.

The device also has 6 GB of RAM. Google has been criticized for offering only 4GB of RAM on existing Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL handsets, while the competition offered mainly 6GB and 8GB RAM options. Therefore, a RAM memory with a capacity of 6 GB would be sufficient for the successor of the family Pixel 3.

Geekbench's list also shows that the mysterious Google device received a single-core score of 3,296 and a multicore score of 9,235. The benchmark results were released on January 24, among others. This shows that they are too recent to judge the authenticity of the material.

That being said, the listed material will most likely be part of the 2019 Pixel lineup that will run on Android Q immediately, given the history of Pixel devices. The new Android version could include new notification gestures and a list of privacy controls. Some recent reports have also referred to a system-wide dark mode and a dedicated desktop mode.
