Do you want to run for charity? Atlas makes it easy

Running for fitness is quite common, though, and could it help you raise money for charity with each mile you run? Would you motivate yourself to be more active? A company based in San Francisco called Atlas Unlimited Inc. think so. Its application - Atlas - connects the welfare initiatives of companies with charities, through brokers like you. The app itself is free and is available for both Android and iOS.

You could train for a half marathon or just move from being a 5-stroke non-stop couch potato but all you need to do is register your tracks through the Atlas application for Android or for iPhone , choose a cause and each of your needles Some money for charity.

Olivier Kaeser, co-founder of Atlas, explains to Gadgets 360 that the company thinks of itself as a social enterprise. "We think it's a great idea to go for non-profit, so we made the idea in San Francisco and we have built a social business model around him," he says. For example, lack of housing is a big problem in San Francisco and brokers are deeply concerned about it. Kaeser says Atlas gives them the opportunity to improve the situation by obtaining money for a charity.

One of the Atlas goals is to stay local. "We focus on the impact it has on your community," says Kaeser. This means that it can not be run to help fight the lack of housing in San Francisco while living in India. He says that people tend to take care of the community in which they live and can see the impact that charities have in their area, and that is why they have this criterion.

The idea is not new, but the implementation of Atlas seems to be sustainable. Kaeser says: "For the broker it's free. For the non-profit community, it's free. For companies, we pay a dollar amount per employee or a percentage quota above the donation." This allows companies to gain visibility: the brokers see who makes the donations. However, there is no option to choose both business and nonprofit. Therefore, if a company with practices that do not like support a cause in which you believe firmly, you will have a dilated ethic. However, Atlas makes non-profit companies, says Kaeser. "Companies provide a non-profit and we validate it. If we see that it is not a non-profit, we would not touch it," he explains.

In India, Goqii has implemented a similar feature through a feature called Karma Points. You gain a Karma point for every 390 steps you register through the Goqii crawler, and you can give these points to a charity of your choice. We asked Goqii about the funding of donations, but the company refused to confirm whether you accept donations or pay for them. However, he declared that he has given more than Rs. 4.7 crore to charity so far.

Currently, Atlas is not available in India. Kaeser says he is looking for people to take her to the country. "We have only been out of a couple of months, which is quite new. We have a development plan ... we intend to connect with other laptops as well." It is more important now to offer features such as Now, the possibility of exporting execution information to popular execution applications and importing them from running clocks, adds Kaeser.
